ENGINEERING VIEW

The electrical scope is where technology projects usually come unstuck. It is designed alongside the technology, not after it.

Electrical design is normally fixed early, against an assumed load, and then asked to absorb everything the technology scope discovers later — more racks, more cooling, more resilience.

RAHCore designs and coordinates the electrical and mechanical scope with the technology requirement in hand, so that capacity, distribution and backup reflect the planned technical environment.

TECHNICAL SCOPE

What sits inside this capability

  • Design and consultancy
  • Installation
  • Power infrastructure
REQUIREMENT

The requirement this addresses

When the electrical package is tendered before the IT and building services requirements are settled, the result is either capacity that constrains the project or capacity that was paid for and never used. Both are expensive, and the second is invisible.

DELIVERY

How RAHCore approaches it

We treat the load schedule as a shared document between disciplines. MEP design, distribution, backup and earthing are developed against the same assumptions that drive the cooling design and the space plan.

DELIVERY METHOD

From planning to commissioning

  1. 01Load assessment and capacity planning against the intended use
  2. 02MEP design covering mechanical, electrical and plumbing scope
  3. 03Distribution, panel and earthing design
  4. 04Specification and procurement of switchgear and materials
  5. 05Installation, termination and testing
  6. 06Commissioning, documentation and handover

DETAILED CAPABILITY

Scope of work

Design and consultancy

  • MEP design and consultancy
  • Complete mechanical, electrical and plumbing design
  • Electrical layout and load coordination

Installation

  • Electrical installations
  • LV systems
  • Corporate fitment and office electrical fit-outs
  • Installation of electrical wiring and fittings
  • Street lighting and electrical signal systems

Power infrastructure

  • Power distribution
  • UPS and backup infrastructure
  • Earthing and lightning protection
  • Associated infrastructure engineering
INTEGRATION

Integration with other systems

Electrical work carries the HVAC plant, the fire systems, the ELV devices and the IT estate. Designing it inside the same scope as those systems is what allows the load schedule to stay accurate through to commissioning.

LIFECYCLE

Lifecycle and maintenance

Electrical AMC covers scheduled inspection, connection and thermographic checks where applicable, preventive work against a plan, and corrective response. Backup infrastructure is tested rather than assumed.

TYPICAL ENGAGEMENTS

Where this capability is applied

  • Corporate office electrical fit-out
  • LV distribution for a new or refurbished floor
  • UPS and backup power systems
  • Earthing and lightning protection
  • Electrical infrastructure for a data centre or server room
  • Street lighting and external electrical systems
WHY RAHCORE
