ENGINEERING VIEW

Low-voltage systems carry most of a building's intelligence. They are specified and cabled as one scope, not four.

CCTV, access control, detection and public address share cable routes, containment, power provision and, increasingly, a network. Tendered separately, they are installed four times over the same building.

RAHCore delivers ELV as a single coordinated scope, with one cabling design and one monitoring layer.

TECHNICAL SCOPE

What sits inside this capability

  • ELV systems
  • Integration
REQUIREMENT

The requirement this addresses

Separately awarded low-voltage packages produce duplicated containment, conflicting cable routes, four monitoring interfaces and no correlation between events. When an alarm is raised, the operator has to reconcile several systems manually to work out what happened.

DELIVERY

How RAHCore approaches it

We design the low-voltage network first and the subsystems onto it, so cabling, power and containment are provisioned once, and the subsystems report into a monitoring layer that can correlate across them.

DELIVERY METHOD

From planning to commissioning

  1. 01Risk and coverage review against the building layout
  2. 02Cabling, containment and device location design
  3. 03Specification of devices, controllers and recording infrastructure
  4. 04Installation, termination and device configuration
  5. 05Verification of coverage, access rules and alarm routing
  6. 06Operator training and handover

DETAILED CAPABILITY

Scope of work

ELV systems

  • CCTV and surveillance
  • Access control
  • Fire detection
  • Low-voltage integrations
  • Structured cabling
  • Integrated monitoring

Integration

  • Security and surveillance integration with BMS
  • Coordination with IT network infrastructure
  • Data centre ELV and sensor integration
INTEGRATION

Integration with other systems

ELV overlaps with fire detection, with the IT network that increasingly carries it, and with the BMS that should see its events. Those interfaces are designed as part of the scope rather than left to subsystem vendors to resolve between themselves.

LIFECYCLE

Lifecycle and maintenance

ELV AMC covers device inspection, recording and retention checks, credential administration for access control, and corrective response. Detection systems are maintained in line with their life-safety role.

TYPICAL ENGAGEMENTS

Where this capability is applied

  • CCTV and access control for a corporate or institutional site
  • Data centre security, detection and monitoring
  • Perimeter and entry control for a campus
  • Consolidation of legacy standalone systems
  • Structured cabling for low-voltage services
  • Integration of ELV events into a BMS
WHY RAHCORE

What the delivery model adds

One cabling design for every subsystemContainment and routes provisioned once, not four times.
Events correlated, not merely collectedSubsystems report into a monitoring layer that can relate them.
Life-safety scope handled as suchDetection is maintained against its role, not treated as another ELV device.
